"Charles Tilly went to the fields": an analysis of the concept of collective action repertoire applied to the mobilizations of the Movement of People Affected by Dams and the Catholic Church, in the area of the forest in Minas Gerais

This article intends to explore the explanatory possibilities related to the main theories and concepts of the sociology of social movements to explain the processes of social mobilization, especially those linked to the struggle in the countryside. In a more specific way, we will present the concept of Collective Action Repertoire, by sociologist Charles Tilly. This concept will be applied in more depth, due to the explanatory potential it presents for the understanding of mobilizations organized jointly by the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) and the Catholic Church. We also propose an improvement of the concept, in terms of the creation of three analytical categories - "direct confrontation", "technical-scientific confrontation" and "information-education" actions - which, according to our judgment, expand the explanatory potential of the concept of collective action repertoire.
