The Rural Environmental Register between mapping the territory, dominating nature and overlapping lands

This article aims to update discussions on the relationship between nature and society, bringing points such as the composition of a network of knowledge about human beings and nature at different times, the numerous attempts to control nature, the scientific strategies of nature. mastery of nature and territory and mapping techniques. The focus of the analysis will be the territory mapping policies, considering the instruments able to give space readability, in the intention of appropriation and property captured to renew the State and control project. The empirical space to think about these relationships will be the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR, in Portuguese) and the georeferencing technology of rural areas in Brazil.
