José Sergio Leite Lopes é Professor do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social, Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro e tem trabalhado há quarenta anos na temática da cultura das classes trabalhadoras no Brasil. Nos últimos anos tem centrado seus estudos em temáticas envolvendo trabalho, esportes, meio ambiente, conflito social e participação pública, além de estar envolvido em projetos sobre memória operária e memória camponesa.
