Nesta edição da Revista IDeAS, elegemos para nossa entrevista, como uma forma de reconhecimento ao Ano Internacional da Agricultura Familiar, um casal de agricultores de Minas Gerais que nos contou sobre as dificuldades da produção, sobre as perspe ctivas futuras e um pouco de sua história na agricultura. Roberto e Márcia, ambos com 45 anos, são casados e pais de duas filhas, possuem um terreno de 10 hectares no distrito de Hermílio Alves, pertencente à Carandaí, município sede do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras Rurais, presidido pelo próprio Roberto. Localizado na microrregião de Barbacena, interior do Estado de Minas Gerais, Carandaí tem vocação agrícola para a produção de olerícolas, sobretudo, cenoura, tomate e abobrinha italiana, e é a produção destas duas últimas culturas que nossos entrevistados têm se dedicado.
