Innovation, familiar agro industries and local agrifood systems in the Serra Gaúcha

This paper aim to analyze ten empirical cases of family farms that make agro industrial process as innovation activity that incentive their autonomy and contribute to better life style and keeping their families in countryside (rural) of Brazil (Serra Gaúcha). This highlight some public policies and programs to impact in a favorable institutional environmental for this family farms, in a national and regional levels. Introduce how this agricultures making practices to innovating production, optimizing the use of their resources (land, familiar work and knowledge). As a result, shows the interactions between this family farms with this institutional environmental, facilitating and improving their practices, insert of in alternative local agrifood systems.Downloads
